The Pony model has a slightly different usage compared to standard SDXL.
The differences mainly involve how prompts and ControlNet are used.
Simply replacing the SDXL model with the Pony model in an existing SDXL workflow won’t work.

Pony
The Pony model began supporting SDXL from version 6 and is noted for its extensive training, especially with character and NSFW prompts. It is recognized for its performance equivalent to NAI V3 on local setups.
The creator of the Pony model developed unique quality tags, so basic negative prompts are generally not needed.
CivitAI has updated separate classifications for Pony models because they work only with Pony-specific LoRA, not with general SDXL LoRA.
For ControlNet, the Pony model requires a specific pdxl ControlNet model. However, since no verified pdxl ControlNet exists yet, partial functionality can be achieved using SDXL ControlNet.
